Andrew Fletcher: Aussie Farmers Direct National Fruit and Veg Manager

It has been a very hot week for our farmers and our fruit and veg. Here at Aussie Farmers Direct we have taken extra steps to deliver the freshest produce to your door. As this hot weather may affect the shelf life of some of your produce we wanted to provide some tips to help you extend the shelf life of this week’s order:

  • Salads Remove the core of the whole lettuce. Remove any pre-packed salad mix, baby spinach etc out of their packaging. Wash & dry leaves. Place in a Tupperware container or similar in the coldest part of the fridge.
  • Fruit Store any stonefruit (peaches, nectarines) in the refrigerator NOT in a fruit bowl. Store any berries in the coldest part of your refrigerator and use fairly quickly.
  • Herbs Store herbs in your refrigerator in a glass of water.

We try to deliver the freshest and best. I hope this helps.

Cheers
